Hearing Aid causing Ear Wax

So yes, if you are a hearing aid wearer, it can cause your ear canal to produce more wax.

So the ear canal produces wax to remove foreign bodies. It's to protect the eardrum. When we're having something in our ear, like in a hearing aid, you have a little tiny dome on the end, which is going into the ear canal, and your ear recognizes that as a foreign body, so it can stimulate more wax production.

If you suspect that your use of a hearing aid might be increasing your production of ear wax then book an Ear Examination at Well Body Clinics
